Before we pull out spiral dynamics and begin paint Assange with colors, it’s important to suspend judgment for now.

Let’s put ourselves into the framework of ALL quadrant, all levels, and analyze it from each of the perspectives.

It’s very useful to use Jonathan Haidt’s 5 scales to understand people’s persuasion that Wikileak can cause danger to American lives.

Whatever the government propaganda machine spin out, it’s gonna have some legions of people believing its message just out of sheer “loyal/ingroup.”

As Haidt’s scale would tell us, conservatives value the 5 values relatively equally:

ingroup/loyalty
purity/sanctity
paternalism/authority
fairness/equality
care/no violent harm

whereas the liberals tend to disregard the previous 3 and stress number 4 and 5.

It’s important to see where people are coming from. And not just allocate them on certain memes.

Like you said, accusation of rape is such a political stunt, a meme churned out in the Propaganda machine, it’s shocking how many people buy into it. ><

Well, Assange was already warned by his colleagues about the "sex trap." The question is why didn't he prepare for it knowing that it would likely to happen? Or has he done something to dilute the Rapist association meme? How can the Memetic Engineers help him dissociate the two terms–"Assange" and "rapist?"

History is being shaped. To be frank, all this Denail of Service Attacks, and voluntary laypeople installing DDoS software is just like coming out of science fiction. Exciting times baby, Exciting times!

Even though I was blown away by Ken Wilber’s books, I’ve been falling out of the Integral movement because of Wilber’s recent endorsement of Trivedi and the constant repetition of content on Integral Life.

I just want to say that I am very happy about my discovery of your blog. Glad to know another East Asian who’s integrally-informed. I seriously do not know anyone personally who’s read most of Wilber’s books.

In my opinion, the right approach is to be conflicted about the Assangement affair, while remaining positive about its effect in the long term. History is being shaped in cyberspace.

that said, i’m looking forward to the next season of “Jesse Ventura’s Conspiracy Theory”. i’m quite sure that WikiLeaks will be on top of their conspiracy theory list. we’ll see if your globalresearch source material would make the cut.

I found it more than strange. That said, I don’t consider Wilber, Smith and some other people who hang around the “official” integral scene as living up to the idea/goal of integral. Wilber’s Integral seems to me as based on misreadings and shallow appropriation of Hegel, Habermas, Gebser and others. Wilber talks a lot about “transcend and include,” but he forgets the negation. A truly dialectic view of structures of consciousness (and this phrase brings up problems because consciousness does not arrange in fixed structures, process-structures seems more apt) would transcend, negate and include other expressions of consciousness. How does this relate to Robb Smith’s position? First, it seems to me as very reactionary. For a man who holds a top position in a supposedly “integral think tank” to write statements that express aversion and unmindful, non
investigative views strikes me as troubling. Living as a really enlightened “teal or turquoise” authority on everyone else’s life some might consider a beautiful life, I guess. But, attacking someone who reveals gross injustices ( For example: US tax money going to support child sex slavery in Afganistan, the US using diplomats as spies, the US trying to bribe other countries to take our Guantanamo prisoners ) I would not consider a good life. Nor would I consider the simplistic, reactionary, and reductionist logic of Smith that cannot arise from proven fact, as examples of a true life. Integral analysis indeed.
