This is a crack up. I mostly doubt that the next, or the next, or the next, et al, Buddhas will be collectives, but I do think that other mindsets [highly evolved ants, perhaps] would produce different paths of enlightenment.

Nice variation on the classic theme. As to the Bauwens’ comment, I think it was Thich Nhat Hanh who said, “The next Buddha will appear as sangha” when referring to Maitreya. Also, in Indian tantras it has been taught that an Awakened One always comes in a mahamandala, where every sentient being is part of the sangha, including your ants.:-)

I found the first diagram quite emotional; the despair is expressed so well in the picture.
