~My 24 Signature Strengths

I just finished taking the VIA (Values in Action) Signature Strengths questionnaire via Authentic Happiness Testing Center. This test measures the 24 character strengths of an individual. Below is the result of my test.

At first I was a bit surprised by my signature strengths — compassion being my top signature strength while passion (e.g. curiosity, bravery and valor, zest and energy) being close secondary strengths. But looking back at my life experiences I think the result closely describes my personality (at least from my subjective evaluation of myself and my general mood when I took the test). Other people’s perception of me (online and offline) generally varies, of course.

That said, I find it serendipitous that my signature strengths reflect the subtitle I’ve chosen for my blog. Blogging with passion and compassion has always been my blogging mantra ever since I started blogging my heart out. I’m just glad to know that my signature strengths are in line with my authentic (though anonymous) online presence.

If you’d like to get to know your character strengths, I recommend that you take the test and use it for personal reflection.

Thanks to Siona for encouraging me to take the test. Here’s to authentic happiness!

VIA Signature Strengths

Here are your scores on the VIA Signature Strengths Survey. For how to interpret and use your scores, see the book Authentic Happiness. The ranking of the strengths reflects your overall ratings of yourself on the 24 strengths in the survey, how much of each strength you possess. Your top five, especially those marked as Signature Strengths, are the ones to pay attention to and find ways to use more often.
