Tonight is the 80th Oscars night
when rich and famous people give honors to their fellow rich and famous
peers. It’s the "brutal Darwinian landscape" of Hollywood where few artsy people do the natural selection. It’s the Nobel prize of the entertainment industry where the gods and goddesses of pop culture
ride in shiny limos, parade in their expensive seductive clothes, drink
expensive wine, eat expensive food, and party all night long. No wonder
everyone wants to be a movie star.
Meanwhile, in a small corner of the blogosphere (known as buddhoblogosphere) a group of bloggers are having an award nomination of their own. The 2008 Blogisattva Awards nominees are up.
"The Blogisattva Organization is pleased to announce the nominees for
the 2008 Blogisattva Awards honoring English-language Buddhism blogging
during calendar year 2007. This is the third annual iteration of the
awards which are given wholly for merit, and not as a measure of blogs’
popularity."
Check it out and discover bloggers who are blogging from the mind as well as from the heart.

A mighty kind post, compassionate C4. May all the Oscar winners end in O.
Thanks for the shout.
