A lot of people believe that Gaia is a living organism. But how many of them believe that the Gaia is also growing?
Well, according to the Growing Earth theory, Gaia is growing! Check out this video by Neal Adams (yes, the comic book guy has a cool side project).
Although this theory is contested
by the scientific community, I find this theory very plausible based on
the logical proofs and presentations. The sun is also growing after all
so why not the Earth? Well, this theory also applies to other planets.
But I also understand why this theory threatens the scientific establishment.
"Problem is, acceptance of such a radical theory would open
a Pandora’s box of controversy and, hell, a new theory of everything
else. That would really shake things up. Too scary for most serious
scientists."
Imagine how this theory, if accepted and proven correct, would change
our notion of gravitation, evolution, weather, climate change and the
Universe.
This goes to show that the more we know, the more we don’t know, and
science, just like religion, is slow to accept new things that
threaten its core.
