Project Comet will launch in early 2006 and will combine the publishing power of TypePad, the community aspects of LiveJournal and the years of insight garnered from Movable Type. Project Comet is focused on creating an advanced weblogging technology platform combining the best elements of all our products, giving people the ability to easily stake out, build and share their own place on the web.
As a long time user of Typepad, I can’t wait to get my hands on these new features. I don’t really care too much about the privacy options since I simply just don’t blog what I don’t want people to know. But the multimedia, aggregation, and community functionality is a big leap towards the next generation of blogging. I just hope they also include audio and video hosting. Now that would be more fun eh?
However, unlike Mena’s mom, I don’t think my mom will do blogging no matter how easy it gets. I can’t even get her to do text messaging. But she’s still the world’s bestest coolest mom just the same.
